At Carlson & Stewart Refrigeration our success is built on the dedication, trustworthiness and knowledge of our people, from our technicians, to our office staff to our leaders.

Michael Martin, President

Mike began his career in refrigeration in 1974, working part-time at Carlson & Stewart Refrigeration while earning his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southwest State University in Marshall, MN. He has spent his entire career concentrating on the design, installation and service of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

David Grong, Past President

David is currently serving as a project manager and advisor at Carlson & Stewart. David has a B.A. from St. Olaf College, and earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southwest State University. He has also been a pilot with the United States Air Force. David is an active member of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, has served as Chairman of the IIAR Piping Committee and as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Chris Savage, Director of Industrial Operations

Chris joined Carlson & Stewart Refrigeration, Inc. in July 2006. He graduated from South Dakota School Mines and Technology with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, and has been a licensed professional engineer in the Minnesota since 2002. Chris spent the first 11 years of his career working in the meat packing industry, where he gained invaluable client-side experience with a variety of mechanical systems.

Our Memberships

We are active members of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR), and apply IIAR standards and practices throughout our business. We are also active members in ASHRAE, RETA, RSES, and other industry trade associations including Minnesota Grocers Association and the Minnesota Association of Meat Processors.
